George A Bissonnette (Dad)

My father was the most amazing person i think i will ever come in contact with. You can't count the number of people he helped in his short life time. People would come to him for advice and after his death numerous people came to give us thanks for what he did for them. Whether it was helping their son get out of drugs and move back home, or helping them pursue a career or just being there as a friend.

He was an amazing investigator for the RCMP. He had true passion for his job. He loved to help people and make the world a better place. He was the best dad i could ask for. Even though he was sick the 13 years i had him in my life, he did more with me then alot of people's fathers do with them in a lifetime. He was encouraging, loving and playful. He was always there for me no matter what.

He was a beloved friend of many, including his hunting and fishing friends. Fall was his favorite time of the year, but he always loved being outdoors. i never once saw him asking for pity or complaining about his life. He was always thankful and could see the good in any situation. When he first got his colostomy bag, he would joke about how we would save money on toilet paper. That's just how he was not focusing on the negatives. He wouldn't ignore them though. He would deal with them.

There are so many things about my father that i could tell you but the last thing i would like to leave you with is a thought he always told me to remember. "Take as much as you can out of each day; live to the best of your ability; and NEVER give up on your dreams."

R.I.P. Daddy, i miss the sparkle in your blue eyes.
