OWEN BERG Owen was a wonderful person. He was 43 years old and he had a problem with drinking. The night he died, he was sober. He was trying to quit drinking. He was driving home from work one night and his truck hit a black patch of ice. I am sure he had on his seat belt, but when they found him, he didn't have it on. But his ribs were crushed so I think he had his seat belt on and took it off because he tried to get out of the truck. They found him about two hours after the accident. He passed away in his brand new pick up truck. The truck itself was totalled. My uncle, died November 16 2001 around 11:00 pm. He was a wonderful man, who cared a lot about his family and friends. He would do anything to help out a person. If they needed a bed to sleep on, he was there. If they needed some food, he was there. He would invite the whole community over to his house to eat supper. Everyone who knew him will always remember him as the guy that was always there for a person in need. When ever a birthday rolled around, he would make or buy something for that person. The next time he would see them, he would give them the present. I have kept and I will always cherish the gifts he has given to me because I know it came from his heart and because he loved me. Well I love him, too. Submitted by: Amanda Crossland |
