Robert Wallace Baird (Robert)

My son, Robert, died last year on September 14, 2006, suddenly and unexpectedly, at the age of 16. He was absolutely fine on the 13th - his usual self. He just didn't wake up in the morning.

I think Robert was an old soul - from his birth and on he always loved the outdoors, all living creatures and plants. He never cared what other kids thought of him, even in his teens. He was teased in school and called weird (he was a little goofy!); however, as we discussed, he was unique. He never did anything bad to his body and always went barefoot, until winter.

He had a great sense of humor and by 16 finally was getting his life together. He started dating his best friend of 6 years, had two other very loyal friends, was going to get his license and had already planned his future with going to college. We even had a "date" planned for this year when he turned 18 on December 28th. I loved and miss him so much it hurts.
